We have some of he friendliest wild animals in Australia

Australia Walkabout Park is a natural bush sanctuary for threatened and endangered animals. Find out more about our wildlife by clicking on our menu - if you want to know what you might see at 'awp' - just look at the lists above.

Staying safe in the bush

The rangers will introduce you to the animals
at Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park.

The animals are the friendliest wild animals in Australia, but remember, they are wild. You can interact with them and touch them and take photographs with them, but if they move away, do not chase after them. There are hundreds of others waiting to interact with you. If you come across a snake in the wild DO NOT MOVE! Pretend you are a tree.

Snakes have really bad eye sight, would normally only bite when frightened, and are not frightened of trees.

So if you keep still, the snake should not see you as a threat and will usually ignore you. NEVER try to pick up with a snake or even touch it with a stick - snakes move with lightening speed, much faster than you can.
