Billy Bilby and Friends Drawing Competition, Reading for Life ... Reading for Wildlife

Billy is a little grey bilby with a pink nose and pink inside his ears. All across NSW as part of the Premier's Reading Challenge, primary school students got together to help the author, Nette Hilton, to illustrate Billy's new book. It was a great story, but it didn't have any pictures!

Have you read the book about Billy Bilby and the Easter Games?

Nette Hilton, the author of all the Billy Bilby books, wrote another Easter story just for you.

But Nette needed your help!

Her new book didn't have any pictures. She needed all the children to draw or paint a picture to illustrate the words of the story. The Billy Bilby story has eight pages. Children chose one of the pages to illustrate.

Although the competition is over, you can still have fun drawing pictures to illustrate the pages. Here is the story...
  • Billy Bilby had millions and billions and zillions of eggs to deliver. "How can I deliver all these eggs?" asked the little bilby.
  • "I'll help," said Kangaroo.
  • "I don't think so," said Billy, "but thank you all the same."
  • "I'll help," said Lizard.
  • "I don't think so," said Billy, "but thank you all the same."
  • "I'll help," said Kookaburra.
  • "I don't think so," said Billy, "but thanks all the same."
  • "Can we help?" asked the little bilbies. "I think so," said Billy Bilby. "Thank you very much."
